  • Width: 6.5”
  • Depth: 15.5”
  • Number of built in stitches: 60

Shark 384 is a 60-stitch sewing machine.  It sews all kinds of fabrics including multiple layers of denim.  It features one step button hole mechanism, foot pressure regulator, automatic needle threader and drop feed.  It also includes one walking foot, four creative feet, seam ripper, three bobbins, set of needles, two spool pin felts, seam guide, screwdriver and oiler.

This machine is great for basic hemming, patching and quilting.  You can even do an upholstery job.  It sews stitch smoothly whether it is straight or zigzag.  The two step button hole looks like a pro.  Bobbin winding can also be done while you are sewing.

You can also use this machine in sewing layers and layers of cotton fabric.  It works out fine even on thick fabrics.  Since the feed dog can be dropped it can handle the thickness of the fabric and is perfect for quilting projects and jobs.  The free arm design allows you to sew sleeves and collars easily.Shark 384

Customers were impressed with what this little machine can do.  However, there were some complaints regarding the bobbin.  Customers find it quite complicated and difficult to put the bobbin into place.  And the instruction manual is not that much of a help.  The illustrations are not clear and they are confusing.

Shark 384 at a glance…

Pros:

  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to use
  • Versatile
  • Automatic threading

Cons:

  • The instruction book is not informative.
  • The troubleshooting guide is not helpful at all.
  • Difficult to insert the bobbin.

Overall, the Shark 384 does basic hemming, patching and quilting.  This machine may be small but it is tough and it can handle heavy and multiple layers of fabrics.
